The first episode of Andromeda outlines the back story of the popular syndicated series: The captain and crew of the starship Andromeda Ascendant are tricked by a fleet of enemy starships who claim to be fleeing "a rogue black hole." Their only hope is to flee in the direction of the black hole, where -- alas -- they are trapped on the event horizon of the black hole for 300 years.
